Prelude 02:20
Cloudy days don't phase me none In the foggy quiet I've found a home Light a candle, another cup of coffee Stretch a little, fine with me
2.
A million miles away Come grab me Pull me in Long arms reaching Darkness creeping In my head Disconnected Lost in quiet I touch but I don't feel Soft and tender Caress and splendor Feels so far away Kiss me gently Take my hands please I wanna see the sun Strong and bitter Savor and shiver A moon high in the sky
3.
Water on the brain Solace in the rain Staggered breath and then Outside again Sound of the neighborhood Love profound understood Glimpses of the sky Try and then retry Trust in the passing of time A few steps and a rhyme Melodic identity A breeze through foxing leaves Generator churn Quiet power learned Hopeful in the rain

Morning Sun 02:09
5.
Lazy girl with shaky breaths Curse your rent checks From sunshine and sheets, Do you have to leave? And baby, I know you do So I'll write you a song Wondrous boy in my arms Maybe just a minute more And I'll wear your shirt And pretend like you're still here
6.
Daydreaming 02:12
Caught myself daydreamin' of floating through the sky Clad in colors I've never seen before A warm glow entrancing me Advancing me through the clouds I think I've found a home up here Warm and luscious wind on my skin Dressed in nothing but light from the sun Gazing at the city below me My feet won't touch the ground The heavens are humming It's sunrise and I am whole.
7.
Cloudbreak 03:56
I pulled a page out of that book you gave me Covered in the sun how it did shine just like your smile The glowing light from cloudbreak always seems to illuminate the things I took for granted Fleeting moments spent in love cover my skin in glowing summertime On a cloudy day I've got the month of may with friends like these I got the month of may

Liftoff! 02:09
Taken from the Apollo 11 Flight Log, public affairs officer Jack King mans the radio communication from mission control shortly before the space craft lifted off Earth, aimed for the moon. "We'll be coming up on the automatic sequence about 10 or 15 seconds from this time. All still Go at this time. Neil Armstrong reported back when he received the good wishes: "Thank you very much. We know it will be a good flight." 30 seconds and counting. Astronauts report, "It feels good". T minus 25 seconds. Twenty seconds and counting. T minus 15 seconds, guidance is internal. Twelve, 11, 10, 9, ignition sequence starts... ...6, 5, 4... ...3... ...2, 1, zero, all engine running..., LIFT-OFF! We have a lift-off, 32 minutes past the hour. Lift-off on Apollo 11."

If there were a god, I think I'd like to ask him Where did he take my friends And if they're happy with him And if there were a god, Maybe he could tell me Why when I sing up at the sky, She doesn't sing back to me But I don't think there is And they sky won't ever harmonize But I hope my friends are all around Like I feel And if there's no god, I think I'm okay with being alone Because my friends are still alive Inside of me The next time I sing up At a dying star I know that even though I'm all alone At least my friends won't hurt anymore And I don't need a god, A scapegoat for kidnap I know they bought a one way ticket To the stars

about

Heliotrope is known as a small, delicate, purple flower. In Greek "helios" refers to the sun, and "tropos" means to turn. These small flowers turn toward the sun through the day in order to access the most sunlight possible for efficient growth and eventual survival.
Inspired by that purposeful shift in motion, I set out writing this album as a way of learning what that shift toward light meant to me. Deliberately beginning in the dark of early morning and growing brighter as a day passed, I tried to capture a more human way of turning toward the sun sonically and explore the sounds of light and dark.
Love always,
PS
